Happy Birthday Mr. Geisel!

Today is Theodor (Ted) Seuss Geisel's Birthday! A.K.A Dr. Seuss!
He was born TODAY in 1904, so he'd be about . . . . really, really, really old if he were still alive (you do the math, it was never my strong suit). He has made reading fun for old and young alike, so I thought I'd share some of his whimsical illustrations and words with you, now only just a few.

"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

"Poor empty pants with nobody inside them."

"A person's a person no matter how small."

"I speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues."

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."

"From there to here, from here to there, funny things are everywhere."

"All the turtles are free, as turtles and, maybe, all creatures should be."

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go."

Okay, now go have a GREAT SEUSS BIRTHDAY!

and if today at some time,
you start to talk in rhyme,
don't fight such a gift,
cause you might cause the day of someone's to lift.
